Vajdahunyad Castle

Located in the City Park close to the ice skating you find one of the romantic castles of Budapest. Several festivals, concerts and exhibitions are held there, and I’m definitely returning for one of those this summer. I travelled to Budapest for one of my favorite brands when it comes to bags and travel accessories. MyWalit always delivers when it comes to fashionable bags that suit my style but also being super handy and useful while traveling. As you already know I’m a sucker for versatile items, that suit my style effortlessly and below you see my new favorite bag!

Hungarian Parlement

The most iconic building in Budapest, also the third largest assembly building in the world. Constructed in the Gothic Revival style, this building is impressive even from far far away. It’s also possible taking guided tours inside the building and see one of the 691 rooms. For me, the outside was already breathtaking enough so me and my photographer decided to take a picture on the other side of the river to include the whole building.

Szechenyi Thermal Bath

It’s always spa time, and if you follow this blog for a longer time you know we’ve had our fair shares of the best ones in the world. But, nevertheless the Szechenyi Thermal Bath definitely deserves a spot in this 10 Best things to do in Budapest article. Make sure to book your tickets and massages in advance.

Nine Bridges

Quiet and peaceful Buda and lively Pest are separated by the Danube River but linked through nine magnificent bridges. Each bridge gives you a whole different view and vibe. The chain bridge is one of the most famous bridges and is by far one of our favorites really early in the morning or by night.

Enjoy the beautiful sights of Budapest from the Danube River with a 2 hour cruise along. From here you can see the famous landmarks such as the Chain Bridge, the Buda Castle, Mattias Church and ofcourse the Hungarian Parlement. Castle Hill

Castle Hill, easily visible from everywhere in Budapest. It’s recognized a World Heritage Site and is an absolute must-see if you’re in Budapest. It is important to take a lot of time here, because getting lost there is the best thing to do because there is so much to see. From here you can see the Danube river and across the Pest area. This place tops every must-see list and I can definitely understand why.

Heroes Square

In the middle of this large square, you find the monuments which features the Seven Chieftains of the Magyars, believed to have led the Hungarian people from Central Asia to the Carpathain basin. In the middle, you see the central pillar the Archangel Gabriel, who is holding the Hungarian crown. The impressive buildings at each sides of it are art galleries.

This place is stunning visiting during the day, as we did here on our Instagram here. Or at night, when the whole city is beautifully illuminated.

Ruin Pubs

Budapest is famous for it’s Ruin pubs, who are filled with vintage furniture and can be find in deserted and sprawling buildings. In the beginning of the 21st century these deserted buildings were taken over by artists and turned into bars. Nowadays this jewish district counts over more than 400 bars.

Although every pub has it’s own unique style, we do have a couple of recommendations including Instant, Fogas Ház, Kuplung and Szimpla.

Matthias Church

This gorgeous building caught my eye even from the Chain Bridge. This multicolored tiled roof and eclectic design the Matthias Church is the centerpiece of the square. Built by St. King Stephen, this church dates back to the 1300s. You can go visit the church inside for a small fee as well.

Bored with churches? Not this time!
