Hi lovelies, It’s such a long time I’ve published a new travel story here because I was so busy traveling and photographing. But now, it’s time to start sharing my travel stories here again on a more regular basis. Starting with a recent trip I took in my own country in collaboration with VisitBrabant. Together with @nonstopnikki.nl I’ve visited Heusden, a pretty small village in Brabant for a surprise trip.

First off, traveling and showing you my homecountry is something I enjoy so much! Especially if I can take @nonstopnikki with me and the whole trip is a surprise. I’ve never heard of Heusden before, but as soon as we arrived we felt so welcome. We started our surprise trip exploring the centre and visiting local stores which ended with the best ice-cream in town from ‘t Heusdens IJshuys‘ which is owned by Gijs who showed us around.

After that we went for a trip about the surroundings of Heusden and learn about the history with the end point a dinner at restaurant en cooking studio van Dijk. We got delicious food, with beautiful views and my absolute favorite was my entree with delicious seafood.

After this dinner, we still had another surprise waiting for us. After a good cup of coffee, we found ourselves walking towards the water and we were wondering if maybe a boat trip was our next appointment. As it turns out, we were right and we had a beautiful sunset waiting for us at Boei35 with a good bottle of wine. They showed us Heusden from the water which was absolutely beautiful and I’ve made some stunning shots which you can see below. After our boat trip, we were welcomed back again at Boei35 for a late night snack which was delicious and after that, it was time to go back to our hotel In den Verdwaalde Koogel. Our room was great, located right at one of the busiest squares and the next morning it was time for us to leave for another day full of surprises.

The second day was a more sporty one and as real Dutchies we went for a cycling trip exploring the dunes  which are called the ‘De Loonse en Drunense Duinen’ and are absolutely stunning. Together with our guide we went cycling and she showed us around all the pretty spots. To end this trip, we had a lovely lunch in the sun and it was already time to pack my bags again for my next trip later that night.

See you in two days with another travel story! 🙂
