| HEINEKEN REGATTA |
The 37th edition of the Heineken Regatta took place on St. Maarten and we from Dutchbloggeronthemove were there to be one of their media reporters. We followed the Heineken Regatta from land and sea and were there to report the race, the island, the parties and the press conferences with all the amazing artists. Including UB40 and Maya.
This world-renowned sailing event offers the perfect combination of challenging races, great parties on the beach and is known to be the largest warm water regatta in the world. More than 200 International teams all over the world participate in this popular carribean race in teams from companies, families and clubs. Every year thousands of people fly to St. Maarten because it is amazing for everyone, sailors or non-sailers. During the day you’ll experience the excitement from the race and after that you can dance the night away with the sand between your toes and a ice-cold green bottle in your hand. (you know what I mean ;))
The Regatta started on Thursday the 2nd at Princess Port de Pleasance and me and my photographer were invited to attend the first press conference. All the sailing teams and press were present here to open and start the regatta. The following days we followed the race by car on the island and Thursday you’ll read more about that here on the blog. Sunday was the big day of the prize giving but first it was time for us to attent another press conference. This press conference was for the amazing artists that were going to perform later that night. As you can see we were really close to artists and we could vlog and make pictures very well. After that it was finally time for the big party at the main stage on Kim Sha Beach. Below you’ll see all the great pictures and next week the vlog of the whole experience will be online, we had an amazing time!
What do you think of the pictures and the Heineken Regatta? And the event? Are you a sailor? 🙂
