Sea Cave Adventure in Porto Cristo with Skualo

Hello lovely followers,

Today I’m writing about my amazing Sea Cave Adventure Porto Cristo with SKUALO. SKUALO offers all sorts of activities from; Dive Trips, Diving Courses, Kayaking, Snorkeling, Sea Cave Adventures (!!), Stand Up Paddle and you can also choose to combine these activities. They have three locations in Mallorca; Alcudia, Portocolom and Porto Cristo which I visited.

Cave Adventure in ‘Cova de’s Coloms

The most famous cave is the ‘Cova de’s Coloms which is also known as the Pirate Cave. These caves are one of the main attractions on Mallorca. When we arrived, the day started with a nice and funny explanation from Steve about the program of the day. After that I got a wet suit, some boots and a helmet and I was totally ready to rock! The trip takes about 3 hours and is organized several times a week. By speedboat we could see the beautiful cliffs, beaches and the most beautiful houses (even the one from Nadal). The weather wasn’t great, it was storming and there even was thunder but they assured me that it was save to go in. Once we arrived to the cave, it really took my breath away. I mean, the beautiful turquoise water and the beautiful cave.. It was just stunning! I was a little bit scared to jump in, but once I did it was all gone.

We entered the cave through the water and inside we saw the beautiful stalagmites and stalactites. There we got a clear explanation about the stalagmites and stalactites. Did you know they grow 1cm in 100 years? Inside there are several fresh saltwater lakes that are so crystal clear and turquoise like you’ve never seen before. I explored the caves and admired the stalagmites and stalactites, climb up and down the cave, explored different ‘areas’ with high ceilings, and jumped in the crystal clear waters! It was an amazing experience and i would recommend it to anyone of you.

Porto Cristo

If you want to plan something around the trip, you could go for a lovely lunch or diner in Porto Cristo. It is a small town with a beautiful small port full with lots of little boats and lovely terraces, so you can have a nice lunch after or before your adventure! They have a beautiful beach and a lot of variety of places to relax with a beautiful view of the ocean. If you’re a fan of a nice big hamburger make sure to visit Twist which is on the other side of the street of Skualo.

Below you’ll find some pictures that are taken by me and some that are taken by Skualo because making pictures in these caves without the right lightening was very difficult.
